So what the hell?

Well, OK. The blog has been dormant for a while. And I've been regularly paying $8.95 a month for blogs I'm not using. And so I've been considering getting rid of the Typepad account entirely. So I cancelled my pay account on Typepad and just have the one blog on the free account now. 

On this blog, it changed over to this - interesting - template. I lost Music Therapy, but that's OK - I still have the podcasts themselves, and perhaps I should just put those in a public Dropbox folder. (Huh...not a bad idea.) Or I could restore them here. 

I will likely move over to Tumblr soon enough, but don't have the concentration today to do so. 

So that's what happened. I think it's about time to start blogging regularly again in some form - perhaps for the new year. 

 

Music Therapy moves to its own blog

Happy Thursday! Music Therapy is now moving to its own blog site at http://scottbrown.typepad.com/music_therapy. If you're following the podcasts, be sure to subscribe over there so you know when new music goes up. Generally I've been posting every Thursday at 9am (primarily because I have some made in advance). Of course, stay tuned here as well :)

Soul Coughing

Songs about drinkin'

Not your traditional songs about drinkin', though. The first piece, Pisshead by The Miserable Rich, is quite touching and a delicate mixture of emotions. The second, We Used to Vacation by Cold War Kids, is simply one of the most painful songs about drinking that I've ever heard. The third, The Slow Descent into Alcoholism by The New Pornographers, is one of the most upbeat songs about alcoholism you'll probably ever hear.

Dance

In this week's session of Music Therapy I'm sharing some fun dance pieces from bands from Europe with you - Datarock (crazy Norwegian guys) with Fa Fa Fa, The Pinker Tones (Barcelona) with L'Heroes, and Justice (their MySpace page says "French Christian club music" - !) with D.A.N.C.E.
