My final post while actually being in Colorado! I thought it fitting to go back to my roots, since I have so many roots here in Colorado. And so, I'm replaying three songs with which I started this podcast.
All from Beirut: Transatlantique, Nantes, and Scenic World.
This order is opposite the first time I put these songs together. Transatlantique is just gorgeous, the opening chords just soothe me somehow. And the lyrics; how can you not like a song that begins, "No, I couldn't tell you how the house burned down last night while we were running around..."?
Nantes is another gorgeous piece of work, just wonderful to listen to.
And, finally, Scenic World is the song that convinced me, at least a year prior to actually starting this podcast, that I needed to get this music out. It's the song that kicked Music Therapy off, and it's a song that I still get chills from whenever I hear it. Every bit of it is exciting and poignant and seems to just fit right now.
So - I've timed this a little differently than usual, so that likely while you're listening to this I am on the road to Portland. You'll hear again from me next week - I have a few podcasts stacked up, and I'm really looking forward to creating more almost as soon as I get there. On to the next part of the adventure.
Thanks to you all for listening. Enjoy!
(Side note: Beirut is on tour, and I'm hoping to catch one of their shows, somewhere.)
