The Minutemen accompanied me through much of my schooling at UCSC. I think they are just phenomenal. If you are interested, a great documentary on them called "we jam econo" came out a few years ago.
Starting out with a couple of examples here from their earlier work - Bob Dylan Wrote Propaganda Songs and Working Men are Pissed. Then, moving on to several tracks from the astounding Double Nickles on the Dime. This was really tough - the two albums play so well together. But I selected out: It's Expected I'm Gone; #1 Hit Song (a fine, fine piece of work); History Lesson - Part II; There Ain't Shit on TV Tonight; Please Don't Be Gentle with Me; Shit from an Old Notebook; Storm Inside My House; Martin's Story ("What you makin' man?"); and wrapping up with Love Dance. This album really exemplifies their talent and diversity.
Enjoy!
